【摘要】:ThisSAERecommendedPracticeisintendedforuseonlyincharacterizingtestsurfacesusedinmotorcyclesidestandretractiontesting(SAEJ1578).Theequipmentandproceduredescribedinthisrecommendedpracticeyieldsrepeatableresultsincharacterizingtestsurfacesinawayfoundtoberelatedtoretractionperformance.Thetestresultsobtainedwiththisproceduredonotnecessarilycorrelatewithmeasurementsobtainedwithotherfrictionmeasurementprocedureswhichhavebeendevelopedforotherpurposes.Thepurposeofthisdocumentistoestablishauniformmethodofcharacterizingthefrictionalcharacteristicsofpavementtestsurfacesusedinmotorcyclesidestandretractionperformancetesting.
